What kinds of metadata does mSense provide?
mSense can tell you about a content item's popularity and subject.
Popularity is determined by the number of comments on an item, the incoming links an item has received, and information from popular social media sites like Digg and del.icio.us.
Subject can be viewed through multiple lenses:
- Categories that reflect the kind of material found in RSS feed items. Use your taxonomy or ours, which is a modified subset of the Wikipedia categories.
- Topics that represent events or ideas mentioned in multiple feed items in recent days or weeks. mSense algorithmically identifies and names each topic.
- Named Entities that identify the people, places and organizations mentioned in a content item. mSpoke also can use your content to define named entities for the people, places and organizations relevant to your subject area.
mSpoke can also customize mSense to automate tagging based on your custom taxonomy.
